Ekadashi in the month of June based on Hindu Lunar calendar and Hindu Panchang. It is the eleventh day in a Hindu calendar and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Ekadashi Fasting in June 2016 is on June 1 and June 16. There is another one Smarta Ekadasi fasting on June 30, 2016, and many regions this fast is on July 1, 2016. Ekadasi on June 30 is known as Yogini Ekadasi. Fasting on Ekadasi is considered highly precious and the popular belief is that one attains moksha or deliverance after worshiping Ekadasi Fast.
 
The Ekadasi on 1 June 2016, is known as Apara Ekadasi and Achala Ekadashi. Jalakrida Ekadasi is celebrated on the day in Orissa. Bhadrakali Ekadasi is held in Punjab and Jammu on the day.
 
Ekadasi on June 16 is known as Nirjala Ekadasi. The popular belief is that observing this one Ekadasi is equal to observing all the other Ekadasi in a year. There can be a 24 to 25 Ekadashi in a Year but Nirjala Ekadashi is most important and auspicious. Nirjala Ekadasi is also known as Bhim Ekadasi.
