Deity worship is not Idol worship: Hindus are often labelled as Idol Worshippers by some non-Hindus, especially the followers of Semitic Religions. Hindus Deities are routinely called Idols by the news media. An Intelligent examination of Hindu view of God (see chapter 4) shows that Hindu Deity worship cannot be equated with Idol worship.
Many people of a different religion other than Hinduism oppose Idol worship Vedas Four ancient texts constituting the oldest layer of Sanskrit literature and the oldest scriptures of Hinduism
also oppose Idol worship. What common people see in temples are Deity worship and not Idol worship. Deity worship is the way people connect themselves to God, it is an extremely devotional process that helps us to develop the love of God. If u ask any Hindu, they will say he or she is not worshipping an idol. Instead, Hindus believe a physical representation of God in the form of an idol(Deity) - helps them focus on an aspect of a prayer or meditation.
