Mansa Devi Mela 2016 – Chaitra Navratri Mela at Manasa She is a Hindu folk serpent-Goddess who is worshipped majorly in Bengal and various north-east parts of India. She is worshipped for protection from snake-bites and long and prosperous life. She was married to a sage named Jaratkaru and with him she parented a son named Astika. She is depicted as a woman covered with snakes and sitting on a lotus. On her head, seven cobras make a hood-like structure. She is also known as the one-eyed goddess. She is mostly worshipped without an image, rather a branch of tree or an earthen pot or a snake image is used as her symbol and is offered prayers. Devi Temple

 

 
Mansa Devi Mela is one of the most important festivals in India and Mela held during Chaitra Navratri at Manasa Devi Temple near Panchkula in Haryana. Mansa DeviMansa DeviMansa Devi
Manasa Devi is also known as the snake Goddess...  
Mela is from 8th April 2016 to 15th April 2016. 
 
 
Mata Mansa Devi She is the Hindu folk goddess of snakesMela are of 9 days duration including the Navratri's 9th day. The most important dates from April 14, 2016 – Durga Ashtami day.
 
Mata Mansa Devi is one of an incarnation of Goddess Shakti and in this form, she is very popular in the Shivalik foothills in village Bilaspur.
 
Devotees came to the Mansa Devi Temple and worship the Goddess Mansa Devi during Chaitra Navratri. 
 
On the 7th and 8th day of Chaitra Navratras festival, the temples of Shrine Complex are closed only for two hours during the night for cleaning, maintenance and provided temporary accommodation like tents, a water etc. For the rest of Navratras, the temples remain open for Mata Darshan The term means the vision of the divineis from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

By Air: The nearest airport is Chandigarh international airport, which is nearer from the temple.
 
By Rail: The nearest railway station is Chandigarh railway station.
 
By Bus: The nearest bus terminus is Chandigarh Bus Station and is located at a distance of about 10 km from the station and 4 km from the Panchkula bus station, the Mansa Devi temple can be reached by local buses, cabs and rickshaws. Chandigarh Bus Transport Undertaking and Haryana Roadways provide special buses during the Navratra fair.
