Ramdevra Fair and Festival at Ramdevji Mandir

 
Ramdevra Fair in celebrated in the village of Ramdevra (Rajasthan) for the memory of Baba Ram Dev. Millions of devotees gather here every year near the temple of Ramdev Ji , where his Samadhi also exists. 
 
Ramdevji Temple fair and festival is celebrated in Bhadrapad month. It is the most important fair at Ramdevra, which is 12 km to the north of Pokhran in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan in India. Ramdevra fair and festival 2016 date are from September 3 to September 12.
 
Ramdevji temple stands around the samadhi of Baba Ramdev, who lived here during the 14th century.
 
Ramdev Ji is widely considered as Ranchor an incarnation of Bhagavan Sri Krishna.
 
Thousands of people take participate in the annual festival celebrated here. People from villages and towns in Rajasthan and Northern Gujarat arrive in the temple to make their offerings.
 
Ramdevra Fair and Festival is annually held from Bhadrapad Shukla Paksha Dwitiya to Bhadrapad Shukla Paksha Dasami – second day to the tenth day of the waxing phase of moon in Bhadrapad month as per as  Hindu lunar calendar followed in Rajasthan.
 

When is Ramdevra Fair held?

The Ramdevra fair is held every year in the months of August-September. Ramdevra fair 2016 date are from September 3 to September 12.
 
Baba Ramdev was a Tanwar Rajput and a saint who later took Samadhi (taking voluntary exit and detachment from a mortal body). He was supposed to have some god gifted and extraordinary powers. Five saints from Mecca when tried to test his powers, ultimately they paid tribute to him. After that, then Muslims call him Ram Shah Pir and Hindus believe that he is an incarnation of Lord Krishna.
 
In 1931, the maharaja of Bikaner constructed a temple around the “Samadhi”.
 
It is said that Baba Ramdev always believed in equality of all human being, rich or poor, whatever their caste and religion. 
 

How to reach Ramdevra Fair

 
The village of Ramdevra is about 12 Kms from Pokhran in Jaisalmer. There is a connectivity from Pokhran to Jodhpur both by road and by rail. Thus, Ramdevra village is well reachable from both Pokhran and Jodhpur by bus.
 
By Airline:
The Nearest Airport is Jodhpur 180 Kms.
    
By Train:
The nearest Railway station is Jodhpur. Train No. 4059 (Delhi-Jaisalmer Express) from Delhi via Gurgaon, Rewari, Alwar, Jaipur, Jodhpur. It's run daily with classes 2AC, 3AC, and Sleeper. Train No. 4810 (Jodhpur Jaisalmer Express ) from Jodhpur. 
    
By Bus:
The Nearest City is Jaisalmer by Road : 120 Kms
 

Celebrations at Ramdevra Fair

 
People from all religions and caste gather to visit this fair in huge in numbers. They consider this time to be ideal to offer prayers and worship their deity Baba Ramdev. Throughout the Ramdevra Fair, devotees organize night long bhajans and kirtans to pay homage to the Lord. 
 
Devotees worshiped in the temple of Baba Ramdev, situated near the Samadhi of Baba Ramdev.
 
Devotees offer rice, coconuts rice, Churma, and wooden horses to Ramdevji.
