Sant Dnyaneshwar Palkhi Yatra from Alandi is a great festival which is a part of Pandharpur Ashadi Warkari Yatra. In 2016, the date of Sri Sant Dnyaneshwar Palki procession from Alandi in Pune district of Maharashtra is on June 17. Ashadi Ekadasi is on July 04, 2017.
 
Sant Dnyaneshwar Palkhi starts from Alandi and reaches Pandharpur via Pune, Saswad, Jejuri, Natepute, Malshiras, Velapur, Shegaon and Wakhri.
 
During the parade, Sant Dnyaneshwar Palkhi is offered pujas and Aartis.
 
The Sant Dnyaneshwar Palki carrying the silver images of the Padukas (footprint) of Saint Dnyaneshwar. The pilgrimage known as Wari or Vari in Marathi ends on the Ashadi Ekadasi. 
 
Sant Dnyaneshwar is also known as Jnanadev or Jnaneshwar reformed  Marathi bhakti literature and at the age of 15th, he wrote Jnaneswari – a discourse on the Bhagavad Gita which has been a household text in Maharashtrian houses for centuries.
 
Pandharpur Yatra, world popular pilgrimage to Pandharpur Vithoba temple, starts from Dehu in Pune and continues to Pune city, Alandi and the twenty-one day Palki yatra ends on the earlier day of Ashadhi Ekadasi at Pandharpur Vithoba Temple.

Another important Palki that is followed by million devotees is that of Sant Tukaram from Dehu near Pune.
 
Both the Palkhis of Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Jnaneshwar Maharaj meet on June 18, 2017, at Wakedewadi near Pune and together heads towards Pune city.
 
Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi will take the Wakdewadi to Engineering College Chowk, Sancheti Chowk, Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk, Tukaram Paduka Chowk, Khandujibaba Chowk, Tilak Chowk, Vijay theatre Chowk, Dulya Maruti Chowk and Nana Peth route. (June 18, 2017) 
 
Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj palkhi will stays at Palkhi Vithoba Temple in Bhavani Peth. (June 18, 2017).  It will stay in the city on June 30, 2017.
 
It will head towards Hadapsar on July 20, 2017, and leave the Pune city.
 
From Pune it goes to Saswad - Lonand - Phaltan - Malshiras - Warkhari and Pandharpur.

By driving, the distance between Mumbai and Pandharpur is 357 km, while the elevated distance from Mumbai to Pandharpur is 299 km.
 
By Train: There is a direct train between Mumbai and Pandharpur. You can take Fast Passenger from Mumbai to Pandharpur.
 
By Bus: There is no direct bus between Mumbai and Pandharpur. You can take a private bus or taxis from Mumbai to Satara then take a cab from Satara to Pandharpur.
