Sant Tukaram Palkhi Yatra from Dehu is a immence celebration which marks the beginning of Pandharpur Ashadi Warkari Yatra. In 2016, Sant Tukaram Palkhi parade begins on June 27 from Dehu in Pune district of Maharashtra and Pandarpur Yatra ends on Ashadi Ekadasi on July 15, 2016.
Sant Tukaram Palkhi procession starts from Dehu and reaches Pandharpur via Aakurdi, Pune. Lonikalbhor, Yavat, Harvard, Baramati, Indapur, Akluj and Wakhri.
During the procession, Sant Tukaram Palkhi is offered pujas and Aartis.

Pandharpur Yatra, the world most popular pilgrimage to Pandharpur Vithoba temple, starts from Dehu in Pune district and continues to Pune city, Alandi and the 21-day Palki yatra ends on the previous day of Ashadhi Ekadasi at Pandharpur Vithoba Temple.

Warkaris (pilgrims) follow the Palki of Sant Tukaram Maharaj to the Vithoba Temple. This is one of the most famous pilgrimages in Marathi culture. The Palkhi or Palanquin carries the Padukas or footprints of Sant Tukaram Maharaj.
On the 2nd day of the yatra, the palki of Tukaram Maharaj arrives at Akurdi Vitthal temple and stay there for the night.
On the 3rd day of the yatra, the palki stays at Nivdungya Vithoba temple at Nana Peth.
On the 4th day, the palki stays in the Pune city and take a rest.
The palki moves towards Pandarpur the next day morning and leaves Pune city.
From Pune the Palki heads towards Yavat - Baramati - Indapur - Bawada - Wakhari - Pandharpur
Millions of people take a participate in the Pandarpur Yatra and the journey is known as Wari Yatra in Marathi, meaning a holy pilgrimage. The 3-week long walk by foot from Dehu to Pandarpur covers nearly 450 kilometers. The purpose of all the Warkaris is to reach Pandharpur and offer their respects to Lord Vithal, an incarnation of Lord Krishna and follow Sant Jnaneshwar and Sant Tukaram.
The origin of the Pandharpur Palki (palanquin) tradition in the present form is associated with Sant Tukaram and his family.
The Palki, or palanquin, parade from Dehu was started by the son of Sant Tukaram. He carried the silver Padukas (footsteps) of Tukaram Maharaj in the Palkhi to Pandarpur and the tradition is still continued.
Pilgrims walk in a group called as Dindi singing bhajans which were composed by Sant Tukaram and Sant Dnyaneshwar.
Shri Tukaram Maharaj Palki from Dehu and Sant Dnyaneshwar Palki from Alandi meet at Pune during the pilgrimage. From here they take a different route and meet at Wakhri near Pandarpur.
