Randhan Chhath, also known as Randan Chat, is a festival celebrated by the people of Gujarat in the month of Shravan (July-August), according to the Hindu calendar. It is celebrated on the sixth day of the dark fortnight of the month. It falls a day before Sitala Satam as it is not a festival in itself but a day to prepare various delicacies for Sitala Satam. Women do not observe any fast on this day nor there is any ritual to follow but they do gather together and prepare food that is to be used the next day to offer goddess.
Significance of the Day
Randhan Chhath, and the next day, together bring luck in the life of married people and success in the life of children. Success and wealth is also a wishful outcome of these two days.
