Bhadrapada Amavasya- A Pious Day to Pay Homage
No moon day in the month of Bhadrapada (August-September), according to the Hindu calendar, is known as Bhadrapada Amavasya. In South India, especially in Tamil Nadu, this day in known as Avani Amavasya. The day is of utmost important to the Marwari community and is also known as Bhado Amavasya or Bhadi Amavasya. It is believed that on a no moon day, one should forget about the past and negative feelings and start afresh with positive thoughts and motivation.
