The two main rituals performed on the day are Shraddha for the dead ancestors and Kalasarpa Dosha Puja. It is a prayer ritual performed to make offerings, honoring, evoking or worshipping gods. The ceremony can also be performed to pay homage to the beloved ones who are dead According to Hinduism, after death, when the soul leaves the body, it gets settled in a domain named Pitru Lok which is looked after by Lord YamaYamaYama
Also known as Yamaraja, Yama is the controller of the hell (Naraka)...
.  At one time three souls of the three members of different generations of the same family can reside there and when the fourth one arrives, the first one leaves for Heaven. To pray for an easy and successful transition from Pitru Lok to heaven, people perform Shraddha for the dead ancestors. On this day, the other souls which reside in Pitru Lok can come on earth to visit their family members. They can be thanked and shown gratitude through this ritual. It is the day of remembrance. Brahmins It is one of the caste of Hindus. They are known for their knowledge of ancient, sacred scripturesare called and are provided with numerous food items. Their hands and feet are washed and then they are presented with some fees.

A person suffering from Kala Sarpa dosha is the one whose soul is caught between the acts of past and the fruit of present. He may repetitively get into challenging situations, denying him the comfortable or ease of the life and testing his patience and spirit time and again. This happens due to the bad deeds of the previous birth which yields results in the present one. On Bhadrapada Amavasya, people suffering from such situation can perform a pooja ritual which will release them from such unfavorable conditions and make their life smooth and steady. One should chant Lord Nataraja’s 108 names. Snakes may also be worshipped and offered turmeric and raw rice.

In a town named Jhunjhunu, situated in Rajasthan, a huge fair is organized on this day. It is held in the honor of a local deity named Rani SatiSatiSati
The name Sati means true and justifying her name...

interviewed as she was pregnant with a child. He promised her that in her next life she will again become the wife of Abhimanyu.

Abhimanyu took his next birth in the form of a merchant named Tandhan das and was married to a girl named Narayani Bai who was none other than Uttara.  Due to ill fate, their happiness and marriage was short lived and Tandhan tied. Narayani bai then showed her dedication and courage by sacrificing herself on the funeral pyre of her husband. Since then she is remembered as the symbol of bravery in the form of Rani Sati. There is also a temple dedicated to her name. People from numerous places come to visit the temple and to attend the fair in the month of Bhadrapada.
