Gauri Puja during Vinayaka Chaturthi in many parts of Maharashtra, especially in Pune, Goddess Gauri is the sister of Ganapati. The appearance of Goddess Gauri in houses is said to bring health, wealth, and prosperity.
The idols of Gauri are brought usually for two days at the beginning of Ganesh Chaturthi. It is placed for three days – the first day is the Gauri Avahana, next day it is to worship Satyanarayan puja and on the third day Gauri is dipped in water.
