Mahagauri is the eighth manifestation of Durga. She is worshiped as “Extremely fair complexion". Her fair complexion is compared to the conch, the moon, and Kunda flower.
She is supposed to be eight-year-old always; all her garments and ornaments are also white. She has four arms. Her vehicle is a Rishabha bull. Her upper right hand is in the pose of allaying fear, and right lower hand holds a trident in it. The upper left-hand holds a small two-headed drum and the lower one is in the pose of granting a boon. Her appearance is very calm and serene.

Gauri is another form of Parvati who is known for her fair skin and radiance. She is a gentle goddess who is kindhearted and nurturing... on the eight day of Navratri. At many places ritual of ‘Kanya Puja’ is performed. In this ritual, they invite where nine young girls are invited in homes and worshipped as the nine incarnations of Durga. They offer them traditional food like Puri, Halwa and White/Black grams (channels). Many devotees gave bangles and red chunnis to wear along with a token amount of money called shagun
