The country named as "India" is a secular province where you can see multiple religions, castes, communities and rituals. One such a community is included as Maheshwari Group. As we know that each community has its own customs and rituals for the particular festival and the Maheshwari community also has its rituals to celebrate ‘Mahesh Navami’. The festival Mahesh Navami is also known by the name of "Maheshwari Jayanti". The community is most popular in the Northern region of India and celebrates Hindu festival Maheshwari Jayanti each year with great zeal. This community is not a big group, but it is spread across the country India.
 
Mahesh Navami, Maheshwari Jayanti, or Mahesh Jayanti is celebrated on the Ninth day (Navami) of Shukla Paksha in the month of June which is Jyeshta Month according to Hindu calendar. In 2016, this festival will be celebrated on 13th June (Monday). The festival is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva. Lord ShivaShivaShiva

Maheshwari Jayanti History and Legend

There was a king named Khandelsen, who did not have any child. That’s why he worshiped Lord Shiva with great devotion and dedication. Being happy with his prayer, Lord Shiva fulfilled his wish by blessing him with a son. The name of his son was Sujansen, who later became the king of his kingdom.
 

Maheshwari Jayanti Celebration

Predominantly, it is the festival of Hindus and is observed in many parts of the country mainly in Rajasthan. All the devotees worship Lord Mahesh and Goddess Parvati on this festival day. The temples are decorated with flowers and the prayer is accomplished very peacefully. The newly wedded couples are especially asked to pray Lord Shiva and Goddess ParvatiParvatiParvati

Maheshwari Jayanti Rituals

On the occasion of Mahesh Jayanti, various Yagyas and Mantras are performed throughout the night. Special Thanks and pictures are spread all across the streets and homes by the devotees. Large pictures are distributed by his followers. The Abhishekam Bathing the idol of the Hindu deityof Lord Shiva is done in the temples. Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva are decorated elegantly in different temples on this day.
 
When the pictures and Jhankies are returned from the streets, The Bhajans are sung and the Prasad It is the sacred food that is distributed after an auspicious event or day after offering it to the Godsis offered to every devotee. People celebrate this festival with great faith and dedication towards Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. It is believed that on this day, the women who wish for a child, perform a special prayer for their wishes and Lord Shiva blesses them with their wishes. Moreover, temples, Yagyas, and Mantras are also performed by the people at their residences. This festival is symbolized as the devotion of Lord Shiva as he is considered to be the pioneer of pleasure and welfare.
