Haunted fort of Pune Shaniwarwada | Bajirao Mastani Shaniwarwada
Indian Most Haunted Place Shaniwar Wada Fort is located in Pune, Maharashtra. The foundation of this fort is laid on Saturday that’s why it’s name is Shaniwar Wada. This fort is world famous for its grandeur and historicity. In the 18th century, It was built by the Maratha Empire that ruled Peshwas. The fort was Peshwas’s throne till 1818 but the fort is associated with black chapter.
In this fort on the Night of August 30, 1773 at 18 years old Narayan Rao, who at just 16 years of age became Peshwa of the Maratha empire was fifth, was killed unlawfully. When his killers came to murder him, he sensed danger and ran towards his uncle by calling “Kaka Mala Vachva” (Uncle save me), but unfortunately died before arriving there. It is said that the soul of that child Narayan Rao still lingers and the last words spoken by him “Kaka Mala Vachva” is still heard at the fort. Therefore, this place is included in top most haunted places of India.
There are many locals who actually camp at night on the fort grounds just to hear the little boy’s scream. It is preferable to visit the fort in during day hours because the fort is desolated at Night except for maybe a caretaker.
