Bharat- The Ideal Brother
Bharat was the son of King DasarathaDasaratha
Dasaratha is known as a great King of Ayodhya and as the father was Rama. He was a son of a king named Aja and his wife Indumati.. and his youngest wife, KaikeyiKaikeyi
Kaikeyi, one of the major characters of Ramayana, was the mother of Bharata.... Though he was a younger brother of Rama, his virtues were equivalent to him. He was named Bharat because of his compassion towards others. It was believed that he would always take care of others and work for the betterment of the people of the Kingdom. He will keep them well fed and nurtured. He always followed the ideals set up RamaRama
As of late, in the year 2007, the idea of whether Rama... and walked into his footsteps. Rama was closer to his heart than his parents. He was married to a young princess named Mandavi with whom he had two sons, Taksha and Pushkal. Two major temples that are dedicated to him are Koodalmanikyam Temple in Kerala and Bharat Mandir in Rishikesh.
Kaikeyi was unhappy when Dasaratha decided to give the throne to his eldest son, Rama. She wanted her own son to be the king thus she asked Dasaratha to dethrone Rama and send him to an exile for fourteen years and make BharataBharata
He is also a younger brother of Rama and the son of Kaikeyi. His mother wanted him to be the king of Ayodhya after Dasaratha, thus she forced her husband to put the legal heir to throne, Rama, to exile. Bharat never accepted the throne and waited for his brother to return. He rather placed Rama’s sandals on the throne. the new king. Dasaratha did what he was told but with a heavy heart. After Rama left, Dasaratha was in pain and misery. He couldn’t bear his separation with his son and died in desolation.
Bharat was not happy about his mother’s act and denied to take the throne for himself. As soon as his father died, he went to the forest to bring Rama back but Rama refused stating that this would be an unrighteous act. Rama promised that he would return to the kingdom after his exile but meanwhile Bharat would have to take care of the subjects. Disheartened Bharat asked Rama to give his sandals to him so that he could place them on the throne. He agreed to take care of the kingdom but not as a king but only a representative, waiting for the rightful ruler to return. He never sat on the throne and slept on ground like an ordinary person.
Though there was peace and prosperity in his kingdom, Bharat always longed for Rama to come back and he never forgave his mother. After fourteen years when Rama came back to the kingdom, Bharat greeted him with happiness. Rama crowned him as the crown prince because of his years of experience in the service. When the right time came, Rama took retirement from his responsibilities and walked into the River Sarayu. As he was the incarnation of VishnuVishnu
Vishnu is one of the Supreme Gods of Hindus and is a part of Hindu Trinity,.., he became one with the waters. Bharat followed him too and became one with the God.
