    About Brihaspati Dev

According to Hindu mythology, Brihaspati, also written as Bruhaspati, is teacher of all gods, in contrast with Shukracharya who taught all the demons. He is thus also known as Guru and Devaguru. He is beloved by all gods and is also the lord of sacred speech. His ability to read minds makes him the Lord of Power too. He is also considered to be the personification of religion. Sacrifices made by people and offered to gods are interceded by him on behalf of the mankind. He is the God of wisdom and eloquence and enlightens the minds of gods and human alike and for the same reason he is called the Lord of light, one who lightens the path through intellect.

    Brihaspati’s Lineage

Brihaspati’s parents are two of the creations of Lord BrahmaBrahmaBrahma
According to Hinduism, the whole creation is the work of Trimurti (the Hindu Trinity)...
(one of the Supreme God of Hindus, also known as the Creator). Angiraa was one of the Maanas Putra (sons born from the mind) of Brahma and he fathered Brihaspati with his wife Shraddhaa. It is believed that Shraddhaa was unfaithful to her husband and Brihaspati was born out of the norms of the wedlock. She gave birth to stillborn child but when she repented for her mistake, Angiraa gave life to the child and accepted them both as family.
Brihaspati had three wives and seventeen children in all, nine sons and eight daughters. He was deceived by his second wife named TaraTaraTara
In the Ramayana, Tara is addressed by Vali as the daughter of the vanara physician Sushena. Sometimes, verses are added in the Bala Kanda, the first book of the Ramayana...
whom he reduced to ashes but was given her life back by Brahma.
