Ashta Lakshmi is a group of eight Goddesses who all are incarnations of Goddess Lakshmi. One of the Goddesses is called Dhairya Lakshmi. She also named Veera Lakshmi as she bestows strength, valor and bravery. She provides courage to overcome difficulties of both mind and body. Worshipping her results in an easy life which one attains after overcoming all the difficulties.
Dhairya Lakshmi is an eight armed Goddess who holds various weapons like disc, bow, arrow and trident or sword. She also holds conch and a bundle of palm leaf scriptures. Her other two hands are in abhaya gesture which is used to provide safety and reassurance as it dispels fear and in varada gesture which is also known as generosity gesture as it is used to give blessings and boons. She is dressed in red garments and is often ornamented with gold and flowers. She has a peaceful and charming face which always evoke the feelings of love and compassion. She keeps her devotees protected and help them in handling all the hurdles of life with ease.
Once a king named Bhoja Rajan ruled a kingdom without any struggle. Everyone in his kingdom was happy and healthy. He prayed to all the eight incarnations of Lakshmi and they all resided in his kingdom. Once he was visited by Lakshmi and was told that seven of the eight incarnations would have to leave him but he can choose the one incarnation which he needs the most in his kingdom.
