I belief, 70% Hindus eat non-vegetarian food that does not include beef.

In some temples, animals are sacrificed even today.30% eat vegetarian food who believes in non-violence. They think animals as the incarnation of God and slaying them is considered against the natural balance of the universe.

Hi Pranav!

I think we cannot precisely give percentage of vegetarian or non-vegetarian Hindus.

According to me, Hinduism has no set of rules like other religions. It is a religion of enlightening the mind and soul. Many Hindus strictly follow the vegetarian diet while other became liberal and started eating non –vegetarian food. In South Indian states such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu and East Indian states such as Bengal where Hindus consider unfertilized egg and fish as vegetarian food. In some West Indian states such as Gujrat and Rajasthan Hindu eat strict vegetarian diet. Almost all the Hindus abstain themselves from eating beef as they consider cow as the sacred animal.

In a nutshell, Hindu religion gives advice but does not impose the strict restriction on its followers, it depends upon an individual choice to eat vegetarian or non- vegetarian food.
