Significance of Hanging Lemon - Chili In Shops or Business Places
Valetudinarian Belief: It is believed that the God of misfortune, Alakshmi brings bad luck to the shop owners or business man’ life. In order to this point not to allow her to enter  the shops and business owners hang these 7 chilies and lemon. According to Indian mythology,  Alakshmi likes sour, pungent and hot things. That’s why at the door, Alakshmi will only come up at the door and eat her favorite food and satisfy her hunger and leave without entering in shops and business places. It is considered that after liquidating lemon and green chilies, Alakshmi loses her request to enter the shops or business places. She will turn around without casting her cunning eyes.

Scientific Reason: The cotton thread which is used to tie the chilies and lemon absorbs the acid from the fruit while it is fresh. This smell keeps the pests and insects away from the shops, houses and business places. This is an effortless insecticidal which came into custom from ancient times, which misleads now as explained above in the first paragraph.
