Unravelling the mystery behind the Third Eye of Lord Shiva
The third eye of Lord ShivaShivaShiva
Shiva is one of the Supreme Gods of Hindu Trinity that ...
is often portrayed in a dramatic way that stands still on the forehead of Lord Shiva, ready to fire a missile and destroy the world. The reason why Shiva is also called "the destroyer". The right eye is believed to be the sun while the left is the moon; hence the third eye is considered to be the fire. It is also said that the third eye originated with the demise of SatiSatiSati
The name Sati means true and justifying her name...
.

But, the truth lies with the fact that, the third eye is a symbol of enlightenment which is also referred to as the brow chakra or the sixth chakra. The third eye or ‘Eye of Wisdom’ is denoted by a dot or a mark on the forehead of Lord Shiva which signifies the intellectual and spiritual powers. Thus, the ‘third eye’ is only a representation of Shiva’s aggression and destruction which does not exist for real.
