    Why Hindus rub, kiss their palms in the morning?
    According to Ayurveda, there is specified a way of waking up in the morning. 
     
    You need to sit straight with cross legs. 
     
    Rub the hands in a circular manner first in the right direction than in the left direction. After that, kiss the hand of that side of your body where you feel the flow of breath is stronger, then kiss the other hand. By Kissing, one confers positive energy. 
     
    Move the hands slowly over the head, eyes, cheeks shoulders, arms, and legs, creating an energy shield
    that wards off negative impact of the whole of the day. Finally, chant the following protection mantra 
     
    KAR AGRE VASATE LAKSHMI
     
    KAR MADHYE CHA SARASVATI
     
    KAR MULE VASATE GOVINDAM
      (At the base of the hands, resides, Lord Govinda
     
    PRATAM SHUBH KAR DARSHANAM
    It is auspicious to see the hand in the morning.
     
    Scientific Reasons:
    • Initially, when you rub hands, you are actually pressing your acupressure points.
    • When you move your hands over your eyes, heat is generated that activate photoreceptors that were in the rested state while you were sleeping.  Changes in the eye health can be observed by practicing this activity for at least three months.
    • At the end, when you chant the Mantra, A group of sacred words chanted in order to gain something, be it materialistic pleasures or peaceful mind you make use of all parts of the mouth that involved in vocal (production of sound). This is like a warm up to your vocal parts as they had gone to rest during sleep.
